In 1949 Murray Medical Center was built to care for the citizens of Murray County. 64 years later, our success is a tribute to the patients, employees and physicians that have made us great. Over the years we have made lots of changes — from our state-of-the-art emergency department addition in 2005 to the recent addition of advanced digital imaging in our outpatient radiology department. We work hard each day to meet the healthcare needs of our community. In 2012 we became an independent hospital and are now poised to become a bigger contributor to our community than ever before.

Steely named administrator of Murray Medical Center
Murray Medical Center officials are pleased to announce that Karen Steely, RN, MSN has been selected to serve as the hospital’s administrator.
“Karen brings a wealth of knowledge in patient services and the Murray County community,” said Pete Weber, president/CEO of the Southeast Region for Adventist Health System. “Her extensive inpatient services and healthcare experience will be a great benefit to us as we move forward with the management of Murray Medical Center.”

D&W Papertube Donates to Foundation at Murray Medical Center
D&W Papertube recently presented a check to the newly formed Murray Medical Center Foundation. They are challenging other businesses to also donate to further enhance available healthcare in Murray County.
EMS Director of the Year
Murray Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director Larry Ballew was recently honored at the Northwest Georgia EMS Region 1 Annual Banquet as the 2013 Stanley Payne EMS Director of the Year. The award given annually by the group is given to a Northwest Georgia EMS director that has gone above the call of duty in conducting his job as a local EMS Director. It is his 4th time receiving the award.

With the addition of the PACS digital imaging system. Murray Medical Center now offers even quicker turnaround on exams while allowing patients to receive their medical files and images on a compact disc so that any physicians office can view their images.
